I'm at the point in the winter season, where I'm leaning into lots of classic pieces. January was the time when I really shopped my closet — favorite trousers in neutral colors, high- and low-waisted dark denim and cozy sweaters. I paired those wardrobe pieces with sneakers or black booties and topped it off with a great coat.
Recently, I was in Boston to do a little shopping and browsing to help treat the winter blues. As much as I enjoy the convenience of online shopping, I still love going to stores to try items on and get inspiration. Standouts from the shopping trip were coats (of course), cozy sweaters and all types of denim, though I'm all about dark denim hues these days.
This year, I'm all about adding good quality pieces to my closet that I can wear year after year. During these cold winter days, I'm finding myself leaning towards sweaters, a good pair of denim and a classic bootie or sneaker.
A long coat
I found the one I'm wearing above at Zara for under $125. It's not the warmest, but I love the length and navy blue hue. It totally has elevated my winter looks. This one has been a favorite of mine for a while (so chic) and this looks great, too.
Black Booties
A pointed toe black bootie is essential and can elevate any outfit. I love a bootie that has a walkable heel and is comfortable, yet chic. I have a Vince pair that I wear all the time (similar to this one) and have worn them so many times. Loving these splurgy ones, these chic mid-priced ones and these affordable ones, too.
Dark Denim
Right now, I have two favorite dark denim pieces on repeat. The AGOLDE pinch waist and the AGOLDE 90s mid-rise jean. The mid-rise are by far my favorite for comfort, they hit a little low and are a little looser, while the pinch waist feel a little bit more tailored, have a higher waist and can lean a little dressier.
Knitwear
I'm a big fan of Sézane sweaters and most are under $175. I have a few different knits from them and the quality is great and I love the color options. One of my favorites is this one (I'm wearing it in the pic) and also love their cardigans I usually go TTS in their sweaters.
